So i covered and conceptualised ideas and concepts for the Arbvar, concerning mostly World Laws such as Magic and Magos Marks. Projections, antibodies, Hyjinxes have also been proposed as have the concepts for Edens and Hearts. So what comes next?
Next its time to focus on the main setting, ‘Esterm’, one of the Arbvar’s worlds. This will be the core setting within a setting [The Arbvar]. This world fruit will be where the main protagonists live and where the story will primarily take place. However, before i can do that, i need to establish some form of history.
That doesn’t mean that the reader needs to know all of this history – it may bridge up in the story but it is mostly for my know how. History effects everything. The Past shapes us. History and events births culture and trends and these trends and cultures can lead to different faiths such as religion or even other languages! I need my world to have some kind of past. Even if it is just minor stuff, it will still effect the present when my story takes place. For example, an invention of the past might be re-invented and revolutionise the world! Or it could be happening in the now – effecting the social and economics of the world, thus effecting the protagonist’s life style. Or for example, there could be a core religion that has the seat of power in the world – but our characters may not believe it – but must succumb to its dominance on society – this is where i will start to determine background characteristics that WILL shape my characters. It will effect them. And it does. Our history and cultures shape us – our clothing, so vastly different to our foreign neighbours…here is where the foundations for the characters begin to lay in…
